Brian Kirkpatrick selected as a speaker at the EC-Council Global CISO Forum that will be held in Atlanta, GA on September 15-16, 2016

The topic of discussion will be ransomware. The FBI reported this year that US businesses lost more than $1.6 million to ransomware in 2015, and that the number continues to rise. Chris Stangl of the FBI’s Cyber Division stated that ransomware is a prevalent, increasing threat.  

Businesses have to strive to understand what ransomware is and how it has evolved. The laws related to ransomware continue to change as well, but can be quite ambiguous. Brian will discuss the latest opinions, standards, and best practices for complying with the privacy laws as they might apply to ransomware.
